Abstract
AI coding assistants are accelerating how fast we can write code, but writing code is only one step in the SDLC. If we optimize the art of writing code without uplifting everything ahead and behind the fun part of a developer's job, we will see all new productivity bottlenecks appearing in tasks like product design, story creation, peer reviews, testing, deployment, etc. Only by intelligently embedding AI and investing in automation across the full end-to-end SDLC workflow will we realize true developer productivity and quality at scale.

Jason Valentino is a lifelong technologist and leader with the privilege of being at the forefront of notable Development Enablement, AI, Cloud Modernization, and Platform Engineering Organizations. Jason currently is the Head of BNY's Software Engineering Discipline, responsible for the company's global software engineering strategy, inclusive of the company's DevEx and Developer AI initiatives. Previous to BNY, Jason served as the head of Peloton's Platform Engineering Organization, was the CTO of Capital One's 'Capital One Shopping' subsidiary, and was a founding member of Capital One Labs.
