Sure provides software for insurers and their partners to manage policies, claims, and customer interactions. As the company prepared for rapid growth and organizational expansion, it needed a way to support its developers through the transition.

Before DX, Sure relied on meetings and ad hoc surveys to understand developer needs, but these methods couldn’t scale. As systems and workflows became more complex, the company needed a way to measure developer experience and identify productivity blockers.

Sure chose DX to automate and scale developer data collection. Within weeks, they gained a clear view of developer experience and operational metrics down to the team level. With DX, Sure obtained visibility it had been missing and data to guide company-wide initiatives with confidence. Developers selected quarterly focus areas, such as improving workflows or reducing friction, while leadership relied on DX insights to set higher level priorities. One standout result was Sure’s annual “Tech Wealth” week, where teams tackled technical debt opportunities identified through DX.

In their first year alone, Sure recouped the cost of multiple FTEs by using DX instead of building and maintaining an internal solution. In addition, improvements made with DX have driven several percentage point improvements to key productivity indicators. “The clarity and ease of DX have been game-changing for us,” Baligod adds. “We can now make faster, better decisions about where to invest.”
