Today we’re announcing a new integration between DX and Amazon Q Developer, AWS’s AI assistant for software development.

Amazon Q has quickly become one of the most widely adopted AI tools in the enterprise, with thousands of developers using it daily to write, debug, and optimize code. Naturally, engineering leaders want to understand whether their teams are using the tool effectively and whether it’s delivering results.

With this integration, DX customers can now gain deep visibility into how Amazon Q is being used across their organizations. From adoption metrics to ROI analysis, DX enables leaders to measure usage, track enablement efforts, and understand how Amazon Q impacts developer productivity, software quality, and team velocity.

“While headlines promise transformational productivity gains, many organizations struggle to measure actual impact in their own environments,” said Abi Noda, CEO of DX. “Our integration with Amazon Q Developer provides the data leaders need to optimize their AI investments and demonstrate real business value.”

What you can do with the integration

This integration brings Amazon Q data into the DX platform, allowing for a full-spectrum view of how AI tools are used and what impact they have.

Track and boost adoption across your organization

DX pulls usage data directly from Amazon Q Developer and maps it to your org hierarchy, team structure, and developer attributes such as tenure, role, and job level. This makes it easy to identify which teams and cohorts are embracing AI and where there are gaps in awareness, adoption, or support.

Measure the impact and ROI of Amazon Q

With the integration, customers can correlate Amazon Q usage with key SDLC and productivity metrics across speed, effectiveness, quality, and security. In addition, DX tracks developer time savings to help quantify the ROI of Amazon Q at both the team and organizational level.

Drive targeted, data-driven enablement

Structured enablement is critical for realizing the full value of AI tools. Because DX already tracks usage and impact, it can provide before-and-after views to assess the effectiveness of rollout and training efforts. Drill down by team, role, or any other attribute to understand where enablement is working and where to focus next.

See exactly how teams use Amazon Q

Beyond adoption rates, DX provides deep visibility into what Amazon Q is being used for. Are developers leveraging it for code generation, debugging, documentation, or other tasks? Which use cases are driving the greatest time savings? These insights help organizations tailor support and coaching to ensure teams are using AI tools in the most effective ways possible.

“The rise of AI is fundamentally reshaping how engineering organizations operate,” said Laura Tacho, CTO of DX. “Companies are no longer limited by how many engineers they can hire, but by how effectively they can augment teams with AI. Our integration with Amazon Q Developer provides the metrics needed to navigate this transformation successfully.”
