Atlassian (DX) Named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Developer Productivity Insight Platforms
Brook Perry
Head of Marketing
Engineering leaders are under increasing pressure to show evidence-based measures of value delivery—especially as AI reshapes how software gets built. The need to measure, understand, and govern the impact of AI across the software development life cycle has never been more urgent.
We’re proud to share that Atlassian (DX) has been named a Leader in the inaugural Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Developer Productivity Insight Platforms. This is the first time Gartner has published a Magic Quadrant for this market, and we’re honored to be recognized alongside other companies.
A market whose moment has arrived
The developer productivity insight platform market is growing fast. Gartner estimates it at approximately $400 million with an average growth rate of over 40% based on an assessment of global organizational spending on data-driven engineering analytics platforms. The primary catalyst, according to the report, is the widespread adoption of AI coding assistants, automated test generation, and agent-based workflows. Organizations are increasingly deploying these platforms as formal mechanisms to evaluate AI effectiveness, compare outcomes across teams, and guide long-term AI rollout strategies.

Why we believe we were recognized
We believe our recognition reflects the work we’ve done to give enterprise engineering organizations the frameworks and data they need to answer the questions that matter most right now.
Our DX Core 4 framework measures development speed, effectiveness, quality, and impact—combining quantitative engineering metrics with the Developer Experience Index (DXI), a qualitative, survey-based composite score derived from 14 standardized items that captures what teams actually experience day to day. In 2025, we released the DX AI Measurement Framework to help engineering leaders move beyond hype and quantify the impact of AI on their teams, tracking utilization, measuring outcomes, and evaluating cost.
We also believe our global reach matters. With a physical presence across EMEA, North America, and Asia/Pacific, we support distributed enterprises wherever their teams are.
Trusted by engineering leaders at every level
DX isn’t just a tool for platform teams. It’s used from the C-suite to individual team leads to drive alignment around what’s working and what needs investment.
What’s ahead
This is a market that is evolving fast, and we’re just getting started. As AI reshapes how software is built, engineering leaders need a foundation for planning, orchestrating, and measuring their AI investments with the rigor and evidence their leadership teams demand. We believe DX is uniquely positioned to serve as that foundation.
