Introducing the DX Dashboard

A single starting point in DX for every role, from ICs to EMs to executives

On September 8th, we’re launching the DX Dashboard—a single starting point in DX for every role, from ICs to EMs to executives. Instead of hopping between reports to find actionable information, Dashboard brings what matters into a focused view that surfaces the work and metrics that matter most right now.

Why we built Dashboard

Teams told us they needed a clear, shared “home” to start their day in DX—something that works whether you manage teams, contribute code, or lead an entire org. The new Dashboard does exactly that: it brings together group, personal, and organization metrics so you can quickly understand progress, spot risks, and decide what to do next.

Note: Dashboard (and real-time, system-based Core 4) is available for Data Cloud customers with AI features enabled. DevEx Cloud-only customers will continue to land on the survey-based Core 4 overview.

New: A new home for DX Frontline

As part of Dashboard, we’re more deeply integrating DX Frontline into the rest of the DX platform. Starting with the release of Dashboard on August 25th, Frontline will be renamed to DX Alerts. All Frontline features are directly integrated into Dashboard - bringing them up front and center.

The new Personal dashboard view brings all of the same IC-level information and metrics that Frontline provided, and the Alerts tab of the new Group dashboard allows the same level of customization for sending notifications to your team via Slack or Microsoft Teams.

New: support for real-time, system-based DX Core 4 metrics

Alongside Dashboard, we’re introducing a system-based option for the DX Core 4 that updates continuously from your connected tools. Turning this on gives you a live pulse across the DX Core 4, helping you catch problems and make changes earlier.

  • What’s included at launch: Impact and Quality can now be powered by PR allocation from DX AI, allowing you to get an accurate and real-time measure of how your team is performing.
  • How to enable: Admins in DX can switch the Core 4 metrics to system-based in their DX app settings.

We strongly encourage enabling system-based Core 4 to get the most from Dashboard.

What you’ll see—by role

For managers: Group dashboard

A day-to-day command center for EMs and team leads, with real-time Core 4 plus the work behind the numbers.

  • Overview: DX Core 4 for your team, with detailed context under each metric.
  • Delivery: A unified picture of execution: PRs, issues/tickets, work logs, and time allocation.
  • Metrics: A customizable board for displaying metrics important to your team.
  • Contributors: Activity breakdowns by each team member.
  • Tasks: See what scorecard tasks need to be completed for services your team owns.
  • Alerts: Configure alerts that post to Slack or Teams so your team never misses a change.

For ICs: Personal dashboard

A single place to stay unblocked and keep momentum.

  • Pull requests & issues:
    • PRs waiting for review so you can unblock others.
    • Open PRs to track progress and next steps.
    • Open issues assigned to you, pulled from your planning tool.
  • Personal breakdowns:
    • Time allocation trends to visualize where your time is going.
    • Review activity and average turnaround time.
    • PR throughput with historic context.

For leaders: Organization dashboard

A high-level roll-up of the Core 4 across all teams, built to answer: Where are we improving? Where are we stuck?

  • See organization-wide trends at a glance.
  • Drill down by team to understand which groups drive movement in each metric.
  • Align priorities using a single, consistent view of performance.
