Committing to the future of developer productivity: ICONIQ’s investment in DX

ICONIQ Growth has announced an investment in DX, the engineering intelligence platform that equips engineering leaders and platform teams with a comprehensive view of developer productivity. By partnering with ICONIQ Growth, DX joins a portfolio of innovative companies including Snowflake, Airbnb, Adyen, Datadog, and GitLab, among others.

Developers are the engine of innovation, turning vision into tangible products. While small teams ship disruptive products with remarkable speed, scaling to hundreds or thousands of developers introduces complexities that hinder progress. Staying ahead requires leaders to effectively gauge productivity, identify bottlenecks, and resolve inefficiencies. Most companies, however, lack the tools and expertise to measure or improve developer productivity—at a critical time when AI is ushering in a new era of engineering efficiency.

Built on leading research, DX is revolutionizing the engineering intelligence category with a sophisticated platform offering a comprehensive view of engineering productivity and its underlying factors. DX has earned the trust of over 300 of the world’s top technology companies and enterprises, including Pinterest, eBay, Pfizer, Vanguard, BNY Mellon, and Dropbox—where CEO Drew Houston has shared DX’s impact firsthand.

DX was founded by Abi Noda and Greyson Junggren and developed in collaboration with the world’s foremost experts on developer productivity, including Dr. Nicole Forsgren (creator of DORA, co-author of SPACE), Dr. Margaret-Anne Story (co-author of SPACE), and Dr. Thomas Zimmerman (co-author of SPACE). Together, they’ve shaped the industry’s understanding of what drives developer productivity today.

Software engineering is both a critical investment and an expensive one—and compared with other critical business functions such as sales, getting good data on performance has always been difficult. The DX platform solves this problem by combining data from development tools with self-reported insights from developers, offering a comprehensive view of engineering performance. Leveraging cutting-edge frameworks like the DX Core 4 and the Developer Experience Index (DXI), DX is uniquely able to provide research-driven, actionable guidance that enables organizations to make data-informed decisions at every level—from CXOs to platform teams to frontline managers.

Our mission at DX is to help every company become a world-class tech organization by providing the insights and expert guidance they need, and our partnership with ICONIQ demonstrates our commitment to that mission.

DX is expanding its Salt Lake City headquarters; we plan to double our 80-person team by the end of the year by hiring across all functions, including remote-first roles. You can find our careers page here for more information.
